Clinical Buyer Job Vacancies

If you're a talented buyer looking for a position within a clinical capacity, Portfolio Procurement can help you find a vacancy that's suited to your qualifications and your needs.

We work specifically within the procurement sector – helping individuals looking for work as well as helping organisations fill their vacancies. We do this because our simple aim is to ensure that the right people get the right jobs.

Requirements of Clinical Buyer Positions

Previous experience as a buyer is required for this role, but you may not necessarily need to have prior experience as a clinical buyer specifically (it will depend on the company whose vacancy it is, but most will consider a buyer who hasn't worked as a clinical buyer before).

You will need to work in collaboration with other figures within and without the procurement department. You will be required to provide regular progress updates to category managers and perhaps even the head of procurement, so you must have strong communication and organisational skills.

You may also need to assist colleagues with particularly complex projects, as well as providing support and guidance to more junior procurement staff.

Needless to say, a focus on efficiency is key to success as a buyer, so you will need to demonstrate the ability to negotiate with suppliers. Making savings and providing a higher level of value will always be one of your objectives.

MCIPS Accreditation

Accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is very desirable. Many employers ask us to only look for professionals who are already CIPS accredited or are working towards it.
