We have two very exciting roles within a global financial services organisation, based in the City of London where they are doubling their Technology capacity over the next 2 years. In this case, this outlines what they need for the Principal Procurement Manager – IT. (please not this is a 2 year FTC)
They are looking for a highly experienced IT Procurement expert to come into the business as a Principal Procurement Manager – IT and a Principal IT Vendor & Commercial Manager – IT, managing complex and high value projects that will innovate the business to grow and prosper. A high proportion of the spend will be Software focused, but not limited to, where you will be exposed to Hardware, Telecoms, Digital, Infrastructure, Saas, IT Services and IT Application Development and Maintenance.
Role and responsibilities:
* Engage with senior level IT stakeholders up to Board Level and working with the Procurement Director
* Initiate, lead and implement some exciting, high value and complex IT sourcing projects
* Work with stakeholders to create strategies for longer term benefits to get best out of suppliers
* Advise using SME IT Category knowledge on new, improved or alternative solutions
* Full spectrum of creating sourcing strategies, sourcing the suppliers and negotiating with Tier 1 Vendors
* Ensure contracts are implemented and agreed to ensure low risk and highest efficiency
* Pro-active procurement advice on existing contracts and offer new and better processes
Experience and requirements:
* Be an SME in complex IT procurement, working with Tier 1 Vendors on a multi-site scale
* Proven savings and improved strategies working with high value spends
* Ideally experience in Financial Services, but will review other relevant industries
* A breadth of IT Category exposure, with Software being a preference
* Confident, capable and able to influence stakeholders at Director level to CTO
* Hit the ground running using your previous extensive IT category experience from day 1
* Examples of developing and implementing procurement policies, process and governance
* CIPS or degree preferable but not essential
