An amazing, newly created Head of Directs Procurement role working for a truly global business to lead the directs procurement team, accountable for all procurement activity covering Print, Paper, and Bind, and Content Creation.

The role will be responsible for the driving of global strategic sourcing initiatives, applying category and sourcing expertise, and for leading the identification, development and expediting of procurement activities to deliver the business needs. Looking for someone with high energy, real drive and someone with some extensive experience leading a team, but also having some deep category knowledge.

Roles and responsibilities:

* Manage, develop, mentor and drive forward the current procurement team by leading from the front
* Own all global spend across these commodities, supporting all global sites from a centralised function
* Driving a strategic supplier relationship management approach across the categories through delivering a true partnership approach
* Functional lead for direct procurement, accountable for building key relationships with divisions and group Functions
* Recognised as leader in the category with detailed market knowledge of print, paper and bind, and content creation
* Responsible for ensuring policies, processes and guidelines are complied with for their spend category and vendor base

Experience and requirements:

* Global leadership experience and deep market knowledge within Paper, Binding and Paper categories
* Be able to advise, negotiate and influence with the company’s senior-leadership and CxO suite

* Need to have proven procurement leadership and team development experience
* Worked at a head of level within a large, multi-site/national organisation
* Be able to understand the complexity of aligning local and global strategy
* Have experience to gain backing for change or transformation
* Ideally degree educated or MCIPS
