A truly global organisation within the professional services and technology industry as a new Global Head of Procurement position to further develop and take forward the group function.

This role offers a huge amount of opportunity to lead a team, be part of the senior-leadership team of a FTSE 250 business and manage the indirect global spend with a real strategic focus. Over the years, the company and team have gone through some change with the team being re-structured that has now created this position. There is a global category management structure in place, but still where this role will develop the categories working with Global Category Leads and the board for overall cost efficiency for the company.

Overall role and responsibilities:

* Manage, mentor and develop a team based here in the UK as well some members globally
* Continuously implement and further develop category and business strategies
* Be a part of the senior leadership team and ensure you have close, strong relationships with the board
* Ensure group procurement is fully efficient in line with key business change
* Work with Category Leads to execute critical, large spend contracts and support the strategy implementation
* Recruit additional heads if there is a benefit to the team and business
* Meet with and maintain relationships with some key vendors

Experience required:

* Need to have proven procurement leadership and team development experience
* Worked at a head of level within a large, multi-site/national organisation
* Be able to understand the complexity of aligning local and global strategy
* Have CxO level reporting line or worked directly with this level
* Ability to prove team, business or cost improvements leading a function
* Have experience to gain backing for change or transformation
* Ideally degree educated or MCIPS
